It’s warm, it’s nutritious and best of all it is berry-delicious. Even the kids will enjoy this one and it’s a much healthier alternative to store bough cereals!
Ingredients
2 Cups Silk Almond Milk
1-2 Whole Cinnamon Sticks
1 Cup Cooked Quinoa
½ tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
Toasted Coconut Chips
Organic Nut Butter
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Nutmeg
Maple Syrup (for extra sweetness, if required)
Directions
- First, take your quinoa and give it a good rinse. It is important to rinse quinoa because the process of rinsing it removes the natural coating called Saponin. Saponin has a soapy-bitter taste and let’s just say who likes the taste of soap?!
- Next, in a sauce pot,on medium to high heat,combine the silk almond milk, cinnamon sticks, vanilla extract, nutmeg and salt. Give it a stir so the ingredients have mixed thoroughly. Add in the quinoa and bring it to a boil and the remove it form the heat and cover. Let the quinoa sit for 10-15 minutes or until all the liquid has absorbed.
- Top with a drizzle of your favourite organic nut butter, toasted coconut flakes, and a big spoonful of our Superfruit Just Fruit spread.
