Real Fruit First, Always

We know the fruit is what makes the spread, so we search the planet for flavourful varieties that are carefully cultivated and tended to. Our suppliers are one of the most important parts of our business, and although they may be across the globe, we consider them all to be part of our fruit spread making family.

Less Sugar, No Less Sweet

Jam, jelly, preserve. These fruit-centric treats hold places in our hearts. But the truth is that traditionally every-single-one of ‘em is more than 50% sugar. That’s why we've taken this popular craveable food and made a more modern, tasty, nutritious way to jam by upgrading the fruit power and decreasing the sugar content by 33% or more. Each serving of Crofter's Organic is only 30 calories or less. Now that's 30 calories well spent.

Less Sugar, No Less Sweet
Our Organic Roots

When Crofter's started in 1989, we sourced only organic fruits (and still do today). This early-adopted commitment is about health, yes, but also a world more. Literally. By refusing to source fruit from farms that use synthetic chemicals or GMOs, we're encouraging natural biodiversity in plants and wildlife, keeping the waterways clean and maintaining the earths fertile soil. In 2009, the CFIA finally caught on to the greatness of organic and passed regulations. We continued doing what we were already doing.

Organic regulations clearly prohibit the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in organic agriculture and organic processing, however this restriction has not been well communicated to consumers. We want to be sure that our commitment to non-GMO foods is loud, clear, and double checked by an organization that only focuses on making sure foods are GMO-free: The non-GMO Project. Because we care.

Fruit as nature intended
Allergen-Free for all

Our facility processes only fruit and cane sugar. No nuts, no grains, no animal products (yes, even our cane sugar is vegan). For the time our fruit spread is with us, it never comes into contact with common allergens. We want everyone to be able to enjoy our fruit spreads.

Allergen-Free for all
Naturally Gluten Free

Fruit spreads are naturally gluten free based on their ingredients, and our facility only processes fruit spreads so more fruit-loving friends can enjoy our spreads.

Naturally Gluten Free
All plant-based and vegan friendly

Plant-based doesn't always mean vegan friendly, but we've taken the extra steps to source ingredients, including cane sugar, that are processed in a vegan-friendly way, so all can enjoy Crofter's Organic great taste.

Preserve

Based on FDA regulation, preserves must have nearly 65% sugar content. Not joking.

Jam

Surprise! “Jam” and “preserve” are now used interchangeably. And that means? A lot of sugar.

Jelly

Jelly is basically a preserve in terms of sugar, too. Only fruit juice is used, though. No whole fruits.

Fruit Butter

Only 8 fruits can be made into these. They're slow-cooked in open kettles to get the “buttery” texture.

Marmalade

Usually made with citrus, the preserve-levels of sugar balances the bitter peels so you don't pucker.
